How to clean up a rear / paint????

Hey , I have a 4th gen rear going in soon, I got the rotors re-surfaced but want to paint the rear black and throw like a chrome cover on the rear since i go to many shows with her. Well anyway, a friend is nice enough to let me use his sandblaster. Is this a good way of going about it? What paint should I use? How should I Paint it? thanks guys , tonz!

Tape off the front yoke and the axels and start blasting it. Then use some rust proof paint like por 15 or some SEM rust preventer and paint it.
