The pictures make me feel really bad. The first thing that is going on my car after the motor swap is an alarm.

PEOPLE SUCK!!
The one thing worrying me about any car is some ****** chucking a rock through the glass just for the hell of it, let alone knicking your stuff..

You guys have the right to arm bears, or is it bear arms? LOL
As well as the motion lights how about an M16 on a motion tracker activated gimbal mount?

Mark.

when i got my car it had a decent alpine MP3 head unit in it, it sottd out like a sore thumb in the car, one of the first things i did was install a delco deck from a 95-up GM car, no one in their right mind will steal that or give it a second look for that matter, and that counts for alot.
however in your case since you want a large system a stock deck really isant an option, i've seen setups where if they remove the headunit, it will short itself out and fry itself, might want to consider building a setup like that.

Have you ever considered getting a car cover? It certainly won't stop anyone from breaking into your car, but it will keep people guessing as to what's under there.

just got a call from a buddy, he has someone thats going to put my alarm in!. so now i can leave my car out with no cover and just tease people, cause if they touch it, It wont only go off but it will page me on the pager remote alarm thing. From autopage. I'll have to get a bat next to my bed or a stun gun.

Why is it always the passenger window that gets busted out? It was the same with mine last winter.
They tried to picked the driver's door lock & trashed it like yours. Then they tried to pry the driver's door open, all it did was ripped my door skin, then they finally broke the passenger window.
I'm still trying to recover from the damage & items stolen. Probally another 11K and it would look good again.

That really really sucks, I've had it happen to me on my 1st car. I had 4 12" JL W6 subs powered by 2 Alpine 1507 Amps... I blew my alternator out cruising the strip, car was toed home and the driver left it in the street. I guess someone follwed the truck home.
I just installed my 2-way alarm remote start with shock and microwave sensors, fuel/spark/starter kill, window roll up/down, and added a relay to activate the rear defroster upon remote start.
I install alarms for a living, BTW

sweet, its a shame your not closer cause i bet your awesome at it. The guy that did my autopage set up after this happend couldnt even get my remote start to work. Locks pop when moving wires. And hes supposed to be real good. I dunno, the shock sensor and everything works. Its a pretty nice alarm too.

I would say about 80% of "installers" hack the crap out of every car they touch... including their own.

Since they stole the whole custom-fit sub box and not just the subs, you might assume the theif had a thirdgen. If I were you, I'd look in the backseat of every parked thirdgen I see.
That's a pretty unique looking sub-box, and you'd recognize it if you saw it again. People suck.

yeah that box took me forever to get it all right. I could have filled a pool with all of the sweat making that. I had to make jigs for each side it was very well done. I just dont kno anymore. People dont care , I'd like to leave my car in an alley one night, blown subs in a box, like solo baric L7 15's, but the metal baskets hooked up to about 200,000 volts of electricity and pile up every mother fcker that is into stealing **** out of other people's car. I'd like to find out who is stealin **** around the area for sure!.

Sorry to hear about the loss of not only your equipment.... but the damage to the car as they were trying to get in.
Some poeple just don't have respect for another persons property and their hard earned dollar. My guess as to who did it... kids or crack heads.
Guess I've been lucky to this point....
I live in a apartment complex which has covered (lighted) parking and I own a rag top. The past year I've been living here.... I've left the top down during the summer months which I will say is 8 months out of the year.
I'm getting my car back from the shop in a few weeks and it will be looking much much nicer than it has been in the past which worries me.
It had bling bling before it went into the body shop, but now it has BLING BLING. I never play the stereo full blast when I enter the complex, and my sub woofer is a infinity basslink unit stuffed in the spare tire holder. The only thing visisble is my Nakamichi head unit. Other than that everything looks stock or "stealth". Much more going on than what you can see from the eye.
I've been lucky to this point, but once it get out of the body shop.... this becomes my "toy" car and not my daily driver as it has been for the past year..... which worries me.
I like the idea of surveilance cameras on the car.
Is their anything out on the market reasonable we can buy as a kit?
Granted it won't keep anyone from stealing anything, but I was thinking of making a sign I can pop up in the window saying this car is being monitored with video surveilance which might make them think twice.
Perhaps take the cheap way out and just post a sign in the window since they won't know any better and buy a fake camera I can attach to my balcony aiming at the car.

You can buy a small CCD camera for like $80 and make a small infrared emitter light source for maybe $15. Hook it up in the car in an inconspicuous area (maybe inside a vent or behind the dash -- you'd only need about a 1/8" hole). You could place a small recorder in the car (converted video cam or one of those tiny new VHS recorders) or a video transmitter. The whole deal could be had for less than $200 if you do a little research.

At least when the thief is done stealing your stuff, they run away, but when the jerks at the insurance office ripped me off, they just sit there and smile.

i feel for ya also, i'm just now getting around to replacing the stuff that was stolen. they took all my cd's my custom box for 3 12's, 2 rockford fosgate amps, and the 3 JL w-0's that were in teh box. Good thing all my cd's were backups in my car. I keep all the originals in my house. But that's the first time anyone had broken into my car and it changed me. I used to give people benefit of the doubt but no longer, they have to earn my trust. As someone else said I have motion detectors out front, a paging alarm, and 12 ga. under my bed probably wont shoot anyone unless forced to but it'll make them **** their pants. Which will be great for when the cops show up

If they weren't so damn big I would have suggested going with a time-lapse recorder.

Hmmm...could rig it to record only when the alarm goes off. Latch it so that even if the alarm is killed, the recorder still keeps going.

That was what I was thinking... put the infrared LEDs, camera(s) and recorder on a separate gel cell battery, so even if the main battery is cut, they're still running. Have the alarm trigger a relay that turns the recorder on but doesn't turn it off. You'd probably have to hack up the recorder though to allow a second relay to activate the record button.
Other thing was that you could get hi-output infrared LEDs and place them throughout the car to give it even lighting in full darkness. You can get packs of 5 for about $3: http://www.sgbotic.com/product_info.php?products_id=65

I know what you need. Forget the alarms, dogs need to be fed and could pee on your car, and cameras just allow you to watch your ****e be stolen over and over again....................

Crikey! I'd like to walk in on someone stealing with that in my hand. I'd make them pee themselves. It'd be like a cheesy western:

that is a wicked p-90 setup. i need a couple of those on my lamp poles in my yard. "say what again, i dare you, no i double dare you mother fu**er". that comes to mind when a car thief trips those into action.
