4th gen interior swappers - Dont toss your Megashifter!

I just started doing the 4th gen dash and console swap in my Trans Am, but I didn't like the idea of having to give up my $180 Megashifter in favor of a stocker that would fit better. I decided to modify the shift plate to accomodate for the Megashifter trim plate, and it turned out really good. It looks better than the picture shows because it's getting dark outside... Let me know what you think.

Much more straightforward than I expected. My tach is showing 2x what it should be so I need to figure out how to fix that and I'm going to be putting the transmission out of my 91 RS into the 85 TA to get the speedo working... the 85's tranny is nearing the end of it's life, so the speedo isn't the only reason I'm swapping.

The other stuff was really easy. The wires on the 4th gen gauges were almost all the same color as the thirdgen and tpiroc's write-up was really helpful. It only took about an hour to get the gauges done, and about the same to get the headlight and dimmer switch working correctly. The colors on that weren't the same so it was a little more complicated, but it definitely wasn't hard to find the information I needed on this site.

Looks good.

Looks like you have a V6 cluster in there since the Speedo only goes to 120mph so that may be the reason the tach reads high.

I had the B&M in my 88 with the 4th gen console until I went to a 5 speed, here is what mine looked like,

Yeah I'd seen yours but I had an auto shift plate and didn't want to deal with looking for the manual one. There weren't any on eBay, so I decided to try something new.

Does having a V6 cluster affect the reading on the tach. I guess that would make sense, can anyone confirm this?

I know when we put my 97 Camaro V6 cluster in my brothers 96 Trans Am LT1 that it read double, idle was 1500rpm and at about 3K the tach was maxed.

that is a stock TCS switch panel and switch that belongs in that hole. right now it is just a place holder to cover the hole.

I don't have pics of it, but when I attempted to install my 6 speed/3 cup holder firebird console in my thirdgen, it unfortunately cracked my dash when trying to downshift into first. Not happy about that, but I will find a better way to make it fit.
