door cupholders?

Hi, I am wondering what is the best way to install these cup holders, do i just screw them in with machines screws? i read somewhere on the later f-body 88 and up door panels, they already have the holes build in the door's sheet metal, but mine is a 84. The screws that come with the cupholders are not machine screws and are very long, I think they are on some of the later model firebirds. thanks

Did those door pockets come standard on the Camaro? I thought they were just a Firebird thing (naive, I know). I just replaced one of these on my car and used the stock hardware which is why I ask about this on the Camaro.

Howdy and welcome to TGO to you from just south of you.

Remove the door panel. Hold the cupholder/map pocket up to the door. If you find that there are three square holes that match up with the holes in the cupholder, then go to the HELP section of the auto parts store and get some white plastic license plate inserts. They come 4 to a package so you'll need two packages. If no square holes, then you could just drill the inner door and use sheet metal screws.
