I basically just made this for lxcamaroxl, I figured since i spent the time on it, ill make a thread incase anyone else needs help.

 

I tried this and it didnt work.
Still Maddona gap
I even lowered the rubber bumpers.
if i push down on the front of the hood, it pushes down.

 

it helped but its still not that good.

 

Fixed mine perfectly, i dont know to much about it, so if anyone else has some tips for this, please share.

 

It's hard to tell you how to fix it without seeing it. You can adjust the hood forward and back also. A lot of thirdgens I see have gaps because the hood is too far back.

 

i think thats my problem. its pretty low now, but still too far back (in the direction of the windshield). also, the front corners are too low, but thats also probably from them being too far back. i would really like to fix this, could you let me know how? thanks a lot for the first tip.

 

The hinges where the hood bolts on and where the hinge bolts to the fender are slotted. Slightly loosen the bolts and you should be able to slide it forward some. Then adjust your bumpers and catch till it sits at the right hight.

 

ill get my teacher to do it (auto body) because he can probably do it in like a minute.

 

There is nothing wrong with the car in the first picture, of the owner of this thread.
GM didn't design the hood to lay on the front cover. There SHOULD be a small gap.
The third picture is too close and will cause the hood to rub while driving, which, in turn, will take off paint.
This is in direct contrast to SOME of the camaro's out there that actually have the problem of too big of a gap.
Which can be any number of things. Not the least of which would be a prior accident that did not get properly repaired.

No i think it still is helpful because i could make it close to touching but not touch, just so the gap is smaller.

 

like i said too, its better, just not perfect.

 

I could not get my gap right. I tried everything and could not get it. I was looking around and found that the metal that latch bolts to was bent(twards the lower bolt on the bottom of the car). I had a parts car, so I grabed that one and replaced it. Now it is perfect. That is one thing I would check too.

 

There are also four bolts, two on each side, near the headlights that are adjustable, they help hold the front clip to the car. I had to play around with these to help get my hood gap fixed.
