Guage swap

I would like to put a 140 mph guage cluster in my car will it still read properly because my current one is only a 85 mph cluster, and also it is out of a v8 and my car is a v6 how off will the tach be? How hard is it to re-adjust? Or can i gust take my current tach out and put it in that cluster?

It depends if your current speedo is mechanical or electric. I bought a cluster from an '86 that was from Canada that was electric (140kph/85mph) If it's electric it will be a tad harder to do since you will need to swap out alot of wiring. I'm not for sure if someone makes a box to swap from cable speedo to electric, but surely someone can answer this.

Go to the Tech central portion of this site and look for the miscellaneous modifications section. Then, find the article titled Swapping an electronic speedometer into your Firebird. It's very usefull and should address most of your questions. It sure helped me out! Good luck.
