Reuse old padding with new carpet and dynomat? and Which tan?
I want to get new carpet, but hawksthirdgen.com has a lot of tan colors. In fact, they have so many that I can't decide what came stock in my car. Can anyone help me out with this?
I have a maroon 1988 IROC with gold package.
The other question that I have is about installing new carpet. Am I supposed to reuse the old padding with the new carpet or just use dynomat? I don't see the dynomat being thick enough.
Any help on either of these subjects would be greatly appreciated.

Dynamat should be used WITH the padding, if you're planning to do some sound deadening. You can also "upgrade" the jute padding to block out more outside sound. Check out this site for a good comparison of available sound deadener products: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com
And here for an idea of how to deaden areas of the car: http://www.secondskinaudio.com/install.php

If you tell Bruce that you need to match you Beechwood carpet, he should be pretty helpful. He helped my match the beechwood seats.
I chose to go with a slightly lighter carpet to contrast my beechwood custom embroidered floormats, so I can't tell you exactly what color you need. This had been brought up before though, and I'll see If I can't find the thread.
