a local body repair shop has an ad in the paper, i have a Q

hey all- ive been job hunting for a little while now and there is an ad running in the paper currently- a local body repair shop looking for a detail/cleanup person

it says person with strong customer service skills preferred

why would a person back in the shop area doing their own thing need to be strongly skilled in CS ?

what am i not seeing ?

this is the kind of job i would love to have, i used to help in a body repair shop years ago,
behind a new car dealership in macomb il,
helping with insurance repairs and such,
and i liked it, i wish i had learned alot more though, i never did any spraying or anything like that,

but it was long ago, like in 92 or so,
so i dont remember much really.

anyoen here on this forum that is a detail cleanup person in a body shop ? how is it ? tips? info ?

thanks for anything

when i worked as a detailer at a dealership the costmer always came back and looked at the car or when you broght it to where they were picking it up you always had to ask " every thing looking good here?" most dealerships try to keep the detailers away from customers though cause we usualy were all jerks. lol

Yeah, I'm not gettin' that at all...I can't imagine why you would have the tech talk to customers. I mean being courteous to customers is one thing, but most people would only want to deal with one person and that's the guy that's in charge. I have one of my guys take over for me and run things when I can't be there or am in meetings, but that's it. He is my spokesperson and it is just like dealing with me.
Wouldnt hurt to go in and ask them about the job though.
