oh no! RUST!!!!!
Well, I got me the dreaded rust on my floor pans on the passenger side. The problem is that the hole is the size of a penny! Everything else is quite solid. Do I really have to cut out this and patch it or is there some other way that I'm overlooking? I'm told to use something like JB weld. Will that really work? Thanks in advance!

If your only rust affected area is the size of a penny and the rest of the floor pan is clean then I don't see why you're so resistant to cutting the rust out and welding in a new piece of metal. It won’t take very long because you’re only doing a pretty small area. You will probably end up with a 4”x4” patch at the max if there’s really just a random hole and everything else is clean. It will probably take just as long as a quick fix and will last a lot longer.
On the other hand, if the rest of the panel is thin you should cut out the thin part(s) and weld in new metal everywhere it’s needed. Thin metal = not very strong = bad.
As for jb weld: sure, that might fill the hole but it won’t fix the rust. It will just continue to spread until the filler falls out of the car and a bigger hole opens up. If you don’t want to weld cut the rust out and then lay some fiberglass down but metal is a better solution. Regardless of what you decide to do cut all the rust out so it won’t spread.

ah, ic. Thanks gummie. Yeah, you're right with that. I want to make sure it's all done the right way. Guess, I'll be cutting and welding some
