repairing t-top headliner

im going to be recovering my t-top headliner this weekend and putting in the overhead console. ive already got the headliner out and got the fabric im just waiting on the overhead console to get here. just wondering if any of you guys that have already done this had some tips for me like problems you've ran into doing yours, ive searched for hours on this topic and i think i know what im doing but still confused on how to cut the slits out for the seatbelts and i heard some ppl used hot glue on the back of the headliner should i do this also? ive got a can of 3m 90 which is what ill use but i wasnt sure about the backing.
