what do u have to change out to put a 92 auto **** on a 86 auto thanks

I put a 92 on my 84 a few years ago.

If I remember right, I had to file down the white plastic stick thing that comes out of the shifter, it's what the button pushes down on. Had to do this, so the new shifter **** would go down far enough onto the shifter.

Other then that, I dont' think I did anything else.

Swap in a '87-92 Camaro or '84-92 Firebird shifter and it should be no problem.
