rear shoulder belt conversion in a 82 trans am how can I do it ?

I want to install factory later model rear shoulder belts in my 82 trans am, I realize the rear plastic panels are different but my main concern is will the retractors be able to be welded to my wheel wells and were the any difference in the wheel well area of the trunk where the retractoc mounted.

Would I be able to mount the seatbelt guides to my original seat back as well and also were there any later years that used my shade of tan interior panels, this car has a tan color interior I believe code 64i which should be either camel or doeskin. And are there any other problems that I may encounter in this conversion.

And while we are on the seatbelt subject where can I find new front shoulder belts, I see them for 84 and later but never for 82-83 is this because 82's were different and nobody cares about the 82's LOL

Pictures of how these rear seatbelt retractors mount would be greatly appreciated

I'm converting my 84 T/A over to rear shoulderbelts. I got all the parts aside from the bracket that has to be welded in. From what I've seen, i don't think there are any other differences in that area aside from some insulation that will have to be removed. I am switching over only because I found mint condition black interior panels in a junkyard from a later 3rd gen that I couldn't pass up.

As for your front belts, 82s are the only thirdgens that didn't have a upper and lower retractor for the seatbelts. The fortunate thing is that 4th gen seatbelts will be a direct swap for you because they also only have an upper retractor. I've swapped over to 4th gen belts and purchased 82 door sills to match them
