Painted Rims And Heat...
I'm conteplating on either polishing my rims or painting them. I did some searching, and found a good point that somebody posted, and they were talking about usuing like brake paint or engine block paint for the rims, becuase regular automotive paint won't tolerate the brake heat. Is there some truth to that? becuase if I get them painted, I want them to be like show quality painted, not rattle can painted. Is there something you can add into paint so it can tolerate the heat and you can shoot it out of a gun and clearcoat it to make it look good. Or should I just polish them back up?

Hi heat paint for rims????? Uh, no.
On one of my other cars I painted the calipers using a special two part caliper paint and was going to do the same on another car when I read on a forum for that particular car that plain old rattle can paint would do just fine on the calipers! This suggestion came from a guy who had done this on his car, which he uses for autocrossing every weekend, which of course gets his brakes HOT, and he hasn't had a problem after 3 years!!
So, on that car I used plain old rattle can stuff on the calipers and have had no problems, even though I drive that car pretty darn hard on twisty mountain roads.
My point being, if plain old rattle can paint can handle the heat of the calipers themselves, then it's going to be just fine on your rims.
