seat belt help
just curios, is there any diff between the t-top seatbelts and hardtop seatbelts aswell as any diffs between the years.
im looking into this because the seatbelts in my 86 trans am are shot to heck.
i heard that the 4th gen belts will fit our cars. any paticular year/model or are they all the same? also curious if the rear ones from the 4th gen will fit aswell.

There is no difference between hatch roof and hardtop seat belts. The belts did change over the years though.
1982 is the only year that the front belts didn't use a lower retractor.
1982-83 use different buckles
1984-92 buckles are the same but '89-92 are revised and don't require the red button or the stainless steel insert safty recall.
1983-85 front belt roof retractors have a safty recall that requires a metal wire to be attached to prevent the retractor spring from falling off.
1989-92 have rear seat shoulder belts.
