Maaco paint job....

Ther's a reason for that frowny up there! lol

Ok, so I have a Maaco paintjob. I think some of you know from another thread I responded to on here. But to recap, I was one of the unlucky ones (thanks to a previous owner) it sucks. It's peeling, lots of orange peel, and again...peeling. Looks like they didn't sand at all when they painted. In fact I peeled some of the paint away and found what appeared to be dirt they didn't even wash off the original paint......

So, what do I have to do before fresh paint? I know if it were factory paint i would have to sand and scuff the surface before fresh paint, but this paint has to come off cause it's peeling off on it's own!! But just exactly how should I tackle this mess of a paint job??

Thanks in advance!

wow sorry to hear that. i think im leaning more towards not bringing it to maaco. a lot of good stories about it here but with my luck and the way i love my car, i'd be the one who gets one of their crappy jobs.

I think POR-15 sells some sort of paint stripper. You may want to look into it. A DA sander would work as well.

If they did an f'd up paint job on MY car, I would have them repaint it or get a refund!

definetley! sadly....this paint job was done I think a few ago by the previous owner. Really poor quality IMO. Didn't really think about that when I got the car though
