hey thanks for your help buddy, anybody else wanna post just to get your post count up?? i no how to use the search and i did, i would not make a post if i couldnt find it in a search first. So with that said...

DURING MY SEARCH i found alot of 99+ dash swaps but no 96-97 swaps. SO AGAIN my question was is a 96-97 lt1 TA dash the same as the 98+ dashes, anybody swap these years? How about the door panels??

I no the center consoles are differnt, it was said in one post that if you are using the console ONLY with your stock 3rd gen dash do not use the lt1 styel because it leaves a gap. i however am swapping the entire dash so do not fall into that catagory.

thanks mike

if you couldn't find the info, i'll lay out what you need here as best i can. there are differences between the LT1 dash and the LS1 styled dashes. The differences (as i ahve seen then) are in the length of the radio/hvac center section. The length is longer on the LS1 dash than it is on the LT1 styled dashes, because there are differences in the center consoles, and as a result, they don't mesh up quite the same (interchanging center consoles...least that was the result in mine...i had an LS1 console w/ a 96 dash, and there was a 1" gap, so i swapped to a 96 console, and no more gap). Also have the door panels from a 96 in my car, all in all, everything went together well, looks good, and i'm happy w/ it for now, still has some finishing that's needed, but, all in time...Things to also take into consideration are the color differences, 98+ had a ebony/black dash, while the 96 models was a gray unit, or atleast all the 93-96 units i found were gray.
