My ****ing casset deck broke!! I'm pissed!

Okay, so I was cuising down 640 @ 55mph on my Brand new 295/50/15 tires with AR tail gunner 15x8 rims listening to kenny rogers the gambler, and all I hear is a like a squeel and a thrubb, and instopresto no music. So I pull it out and put it back in, it doesn't work, so driving down the road I didn't want to inspect the tape, you know it being 15+ years old and all I pop in the Madona tape I had handy. It doesn't work either, at this point I pull over to the side of the road. It turns out my tape deck broke. So I make a trip straight to best buy, and they have ONE casset player, and the guy trys to talk my into getting this fancy CD player for $109.99! I told him to **** off, and left pissed. From there I went to extreme audio down the road, and they are "the audio specialist" yet the still don't have a casset deck.

I then decide that the world is coming to a end and I am going to find a AM/FM tape CB radio out of a late 70's vette to put in her. THen I can junk the old *** cobra CB and the broken deck for a all in one package.

Unless anybody elso has some suggestions of coarse.

LMK what you guys think I should do.

Get some organic trash for the Mr. Fusion, hit 88mph and join the rest of us in 2006. No one uses cassettes or CB radios anymore for a good reason.

Well, I think it depends on what you prefer. Its true that the rest of the world has moved on, tapes are old technology like 8 track man! But some people still have all their music on tapes so they wouldnt want to move to a different format. If this is the case for you I would recommend one of the double din players that plays both tapes and CD's. This way you can still use your tapes, and you can use CD's too if you ever decide to upgrade in the future. Its gonna cost more than some cheapo tape deck, but I think thats the best way to go for the best of both worls. After tapes everyone went to CD, now the next step is digital so pretty soon even CD's will be old technology!

cmeb4ubuy- thats a real nice UX1 you have there! I still have the original UT4 in my 1987 Trans Am- new speakers make it sound great when I listen to the radio and more "historical" when I throw in a cassette from the 80s.

If you check your local junkyard, I bet they'll have more stock Delco radios than you can believe. And these days, they'll even be cheap.
