Can power windows be added to a door that doesn't surrently have pw. Has anyone done it? How bad is it. Do I just need a couple of donor doors? Thanks.

 

Before everyone jumps in and says search, yes it can be done. Easily depends on your skill. You will need both door motors and regulators out of a donor. Also as much of the stock wiring as possible. You will also need a very large rivet gun and 1/4" peeler rivets (GM dealer). You will have to remove the verticle window support channel. Then you pretty much grind/drill/cut off the old rivets and slide the entire assembly off of the window. Install the power one in reverse order but use the 4 holes that you did not use before. You will see what I mean. Then reinstall the verticled support. And wire it up. I would advise you to replace both motors as now would be the best time BEFORE you install them. Good luck!

i would say, if your car is in the needing of painting soon, just use the donor doors on your car. **** all of the other ****. it's much easier than doing all of the cutting and crap. i replaced the motor and that was a pain in the *** itself.. plus your car may already have the wiring set up for pwr wnds... otherwise, grab all of that from the donor car.
