im told the deck lid has adhesive between it and the glass to seal it. does anyone know a good way to remove it without cracking the glass. i brought a used deck lid and the guy that removed it broke the glass. could a heat gun possibly work?

Remove the struts first, then support the hatch with a big box(or something that will leave it open about 12-18in).Remove the plastic trim, remove the 4 small screws at the end of the metal frame that runs the edge of the glass.Remove the 13mm nuts(about 10).Now seperate the decklid from the glass. The key is go slow,Pry on the decklid back & forth.Little by little it will come loose. You may need to use a box cutter blade or maybe something like a hack saw blade to cut the thick black sealer.Just take your time & DONT BEND THE GLASS.
