i got a 84 t/a and everytime i go over bumps my hatch makes alot of squeaky noises and its gettin to me... what would be makin that noise and how do i fix it?????? so help a brotha out por favor....

 

I noticed mine was making weird noises back there also. I found that the jack and spare tire weren't bolted down. I noticed I have a strut that doesn't hold up the rear glass too well either. I hear the glass shaking while driving, sound familiar? Haven't replaced the strut yet to know if its whats causing it. It could be weatherstriping or something with the window hatch motor also.

 

i dont think its the strut, it could be, maybe. when i go out side, hatch is closed, and i apply pressure to it, it makes the same noise. any other suggestions?

 

Take off the panel that covers the hatch motor. On my 86, the hatch motor or what its attached to, had broken the weld and the motor was dangaling there. Also make sure the bolts that hold on the struts are not loose.
