How do I get my door panels off?
Ok so here's the deal.. my door panels are ugly, and irritate me, but I got new runners for the tops, and new triangle things for my windows because mine are cracked and garbage.. now I don't know how to get the armrest piece of the door off.
There's these stupid plastic covers over the holes for the screws, and I don't know how to get them off without butchering them so I thought I'd ask here first.
Also my car is an 89 Trans Am, and the door handles on the inside are kind of round, not square. The armrest is sort of molded into the door skin as well, and there's pockets for crap up by your feet.
Is this the way they came, or did someone swap other stuff into my car, to frustrate me further? :P

door panel removal
Let me see I did it not to long ago, but if I remember correctly you need to push down on the black door trim(roll down window all the way-easier), and hold then while your holding it down push toward window. That should do it and vice versa to put it pack on. It should be just like the CAMARO'S

to get the screw covers off the arm rest, just use a slotted screwdriver. If you're worried about scratching things, wrap it in electrical tape. Also, pop off the firebird logo on the plastic surrounding the door handle. There's a screw under there. Then pop off the round cap directly behind the door handle on that same piece of plastic. There's another screw there.
Then it's just the snaps holding the side of the panel in. Pop those off, put the window down, and squeeze the black trim piece toward the window and up, and the panel should come off.
From your description, it sounds like you've got the stock door panel. It's the same door panel that came in all GTAs, and a lot of TAs and Formulas.

The GTA-style door panels were optional on other models too.

I got them off! The problem I was worried about was there was little round "buttons" on the arm rest, and they cover the screw holes for it, they were very hard to get out without slaughtering them, I already got new trim pieces for the top (my drivers side one was cracked, and the guy before me broke every freakin *** danged plastic nib off, can you believe it?) so I dropped my panels off at my girlfriend's mom's. She's going to reupholster them for me
Thanks for the help guys! (Ps, these door skins are ugly, espeically the storage pocket.. definately gonna get rid of that ugly pocket.)
