Drip Rail?

There is a little rail looking thing that goes over the openings for the door. My passenger side has one but the one on the drivers side is missing or torn off like 3/4 of the way. I was curious as to what i can do or if i can fix this. IF i can get a replacement, where and how do i do it? All help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't cut it off. It is just screwed on. You can remove it or replace it by simply removing the track that holds the weather stripping in place (hard part is finding the screws which are under the weather stripping) The drip rail is held on by more screws that are under the weather stipping rail.

You might as well replace the weather stripping on both sides while pulling out those ugly drip rails. I just took mine out today getting ready for paint. The big pain was pulling out the old weather stripping. It was glued in there and you would think that 20 year old glue would be brittle. Guess again.

what's not? The drip rail? If you want/need drip rails you just go to the junk yard.

Re: Drip Rail?

Does anyone have any pictures of the finished result of shaving the drip rails? And how does it perform in a car wash? I know they just keep rain from dripping inside when the door is open.

I don't take it out in the rain but I could always get caught in a drizzle.

What about the back side "drip rail" that holds the weatherstripping to the B pillar? Can you just zip the outer rail off with a dremel and still leave enough to attach the weatherstripping to?

I'm trying to get pictures and descriptions before I do this. Thanks.
