1983 z28, where is glove box???

Hi, anyone know why Chevy did not put a regular glove box in my z28? I do have the console box in between the seats. I thought I heard someone may make one that you could mount where the normal gloveboxes go? What is behind the plastic dash where a normal box would go? thanks much, Dennis

kinda curious. I was told there is a relay under the glove but unsure of what size screws hold the glove box in?
