Gauge panel conversion

Ok, I'll be honest, I hate my 92 gauge panel. You can't buy any gauges for it, all you can do is get those white overlays. I like the classic look of old gauges and the only way I could think to put those Autometer gauges/panel packages that are made for 82-89 would be to do some kinda dash/gauge panel conversion. What all would I have to replace to put the older style gauges in the car? The whole damn dash?

i definitely like the old style so much better than the 91-92. but i considered a 4th gen dash swap but im not going to do that to this car maybe on my next one.

I agree with you, those guages kinda suck because of the slant and the non-interchangeability. You could always install an older dash but I decided not to do it bucause of the amount of work involved (I have a crack in mine above the stereo/ac panel) Good luck on you decision and whatever you do, remember it's your car so do what makes YOU happy.

Try doing a search for autometer gauges. I've seen a number of 90-92 cars over the years with autometer gauges installed. Most that I remember seeing were mounted on a flat panel inserted in place of the old gauge cluster.

Yeah, I hear about pepole swapping a whole 4th gen dash, It just aint for me. Especially when my stock dash is in near perfect condition. I just love the look of those Autometer gauge packages, if it turns out to be a crazy amount of work I'll just go with the overlays I guess. They aren't that bad, but I am gonna do some searchin' before I make up my mind.
