Drivers side weather stripping????
I am helping out a friend who owns a 92' hardtop firebird and the weather strip on the drivers side door is worn to where it leaks water when it rains and he needs to replace it,but it looks like the strip is glued ,is there a safe way to remove or should we just rip it out and hope for the best and just replace the strip?.....thanks in advance!

I just replaced that same weatherstripping on my 89 hardtop bird. It was glued in, and because it was so old and beat up, it came off in pieces. I had to go back with a flat head screw driver to clean off the remaining pieces. I go the NOS weatherstripping from Hawks and it went in perfectly. Didn't even need glue. If you can get the stripping in the slots it's designed for, you won't need any glue.
