You need to remove the door panel. Then that trim piece is held on by a couple of nuts.

I was afraid of that, I thought I may get lucky and it would only be clips or pins. My inside window rubbers are coming away, is this a common problem ?

yes its a problem.Too remove the window sill you need to first have the window down. Then take off the door panel carefully. Then once all that is out of the way push the window sill in and up and it should come out. When I removed mine I dont remember seeing any bolts and nuts

The top plastic trim piece is held on to the door panel by reverse speed nuts. The trim piece has plastic studs that go thru the door, and then nuts hold it on.
