Functional Iroc Hood Louvers...??

Functional Iroc Hood Louvers...??

Would cutting out the metal below the iroc hood louvers (making them "functional") create any benefit to your engine's overall temp, or would it just be a PITA and wasted time? if anyones attempted this, can you please post any tips or pics about it... thanks.
