Compatibility with 92 RS? (T-Top)
Hey guys
I need to replace the passenger side t-top on my car (92 RS, 25th Aniversary). What years are compatible with my car? I hear that replacing the glass would be overly expensive, and it looks like it would be much cheper to just by one from someone who is parting out his car.
Can I go as far back as 89?
Thanks.

I went to the junkyard to find a t-top for my car; forgot to latch the damn thing in heh. I believe I got a 84 firebird top for my car, and im pretty sure 82-92 will fit, be it fire or camaro

They are not all the same.
There are at least three types of t-tops that I can think of offhand (not including glass vs lexan).
There are two different "GM style" or "factory style" t-tops. I don't recall exactly how it breaks down year-wise, but there is some descriptions:
1. Hook style latching mechanism. I believe that these were used in the early thirdgen years.
2. Pin style latching mechanism. I have had both glass and lexan versions of these. The details of the pin mechanism differed between the two versions, but functionally they are the same.
3. "C&C" or "Cars and Concepts" style. These were sort of an aftermarket version and are a slightly different size and shape from the factory ones. They also use a different weatherstripping setup.
For what it is worth, I have a few random tops sitting around that are leftover from my "spontaneously shattering t-top syndrome" days. I have a drivers side hook style top and the original passenger side glass pin style top from my '87. I didn't notice where you are located, but let me know if either one could help you out. If it is feasable, we could work something out.
