Whats the best way to remove IROC decals/stripes

IM doing a total repaint and im trying to remove them. They are stuck pretty good. I dont want to make more work for myself sanding them to metal. Im trying 180 on my da but its taking forever. And by the time there gone so will the paint around them.

The doors are pretty straight if it wasnt for the decals/stripes i would just about only have to scuff them up for paint.

I have a heatgun i though about trying that.

Thanks,
Mike

The heat gun will take them right off. Heat up the decals and pull them off carefully. Just be careful with the paint around them. Unless you want to take that off too.

Thanks...the heat gun is working pretty good. I got the passenger side off. The decal came right off but the stripes took a little more effort. I used a bit of reducer and a plastic scraper to get the glue off.

My son is a painter at a body shop and I think he told me one time they use a D A sander with a soft pad. Comes right off.

you would wont to use an eraser disc. faster than a d/a. It also get the adhesive off the car, then just go over with 500 on a d/a
