Advice on painting

Before anyone says it, i did search but couldn't find anything on this particular topic. Whether I wasn't searching for the right phrase or there is nothing on it, I don't know.

Basically I have the interior stripped, minus the dash. No seats, no carpet, no console, nothing cept the dash. I already have most of the interior here, just waiting on the carpet to come in. I was planning on having the car painted after I installed the interior, but wanted some advice. Should I leave the interior bare, take off like the lights and stuff, and then have it painted? Or should I just go ahead with redoing the interior now and then getting it painted?

I kinda thought it would be easier to get it painted now and then installing the interior, but wasn't too sure. Also since I want to minimize however much masking there needs to be done, I will also probably have to get the thing towed to a paint ship as I wouldn't have any lights and also nothing in the interior if I were to get it painted first.

With that being said, any good recommendations for paint shops? I imagine they are location specific ones that are really good and can provide towing, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Best way to find a good paint shop in your area is to goto car shows and ask people where they got their cars painted if you like the work. I like to see how other peple cars turned out and how their car is holding up first.

Well first off are you changing the color or going with the same?
Most shops will just mask the interior off. Also if you are not doing the work yourself you need to contact a shop and ask them what the costs will be. No point in being without a driveable car if the cost to do the extra work is outside your budget.

wow, talk about digging a thread up :P

I'm changing color, and right now there is no interior inside minus the dash. No carpet, no seats, no nada. I'm also taking off the lights, decals, etc to minimize whatever masking they need to do, which will be limited to the windows.
