power door lock actuater prob.
My door lock actuaters in both doors are acting up. At first it was the passenger side, now both. I've used new switchs that are on the doors but they wont lock or unlock, any ideas? The drivers side was working great 3 weeks ago. maybe alittle spray lube or is there a fuse that is tied into these things? Im clueless as to what to do with them. Manually they work tho-.

Is it like there catching up? I have the same problem and havent really messed with it. Just make sure all the slides are lubed and in good conditon. You might even have weak/defective actuaters. Maybe even a voltage drop in the system. Make sure thay get a full 12v+

i have the same problem in my 88 gta. sometimes my power door locks work, and other times they dont. i think it might just be dirt in the actuators? maybe it needs some WD-40?

Mine had the same problem
Mine had the same problem. Replaced the motors still would not work.
Look at the bracket. The one that rivets to the door and found over time that it had spread apart. So the motor could not compensate. Took the bracket off (removed rivet) and squeezed the bracket open back together. Then riveted them backon the car. They work great now.

On my '88 Vette there is a lock sw in each door and both would unlock but not lock.
After ordering new switches, I pulled out the driver's door sw to find the connector pins heavily corroded. After cleaning the pins and plugging in the old sw problem solved.
Try cleaning both the sw contacts and the connector pins before getting further into the mechanism.
