Replacing Speedometer Cable

Hi,

I'm sorry if this question was already posted. I searched but didnt find anything quite related. I bought an 88 Camaro and am having it shipped but due to some unexpected mishaps before shipping, the speedometer cable that was supposed to be replaced wasnt. I'll obviously need to replace this before driving it home. I would greatly appreciate any and all help for how to do this, (keeping in mind I'm at a shipping terminal, so I'll obviously be bringing some tools along for the ride )

Thanks!

you'll need the t-10 torx bit to take off the gauge cover, 10mm 1/4in drive (i found easiest) to take out the gauge cluster. you'll need the 7mm to pull the underdash panel. the 14mm (i believe, might want to bring the 13 and 15 also) to drop down the steering wheel to allow the guage cluster to be pulled out. then you'll have to reach your hand around the back of the cluster to push on the clip to release the cable from the cluster. as far as the cable on the transmission it just unscrews from it might need some pliers. And running the cable is no fun take someone with you so they can feed the cable in to the car so you can grab it from the inside.

I think it took me 1/2 hour to do mainly because i have big hands and struggled with the clip 10 minutes. I think that's about it.
