Taillight bezels (dismantling)

Does anyone out there know how to dismantle the taillight bezels from a '82-'84 TA? I want to take them apart to clean properly, there is gravel dust in between the lenses, the metal clips are straight forward, but how can you remove the plastic rivets on the top without damaging them? Anyone? Much appreciated, Kev.

ive taken apart trans am lights on my 86. i found no safe way to remove the plastic rivets, just had to pry them out with a screwdriver, broke 1 one on my old set of lights. once the rivets are out, on mine anyway, the front and back half of the light were glued togeather with a really nasty tar like adheasive that is very tacky, difficult to remove but possible, when your done you need to glue them back togeather with something strong and thick.

they are stuck together, use a nice clean spatular or putty knife blade
