How many of you guys have used those mobile dent repair services. The quarter panel of my 87 IROC sustained damage from a hit and run driver. I was quoted $1800 at 2 collision repair centers. Since this car doesn't have "full coverage"... I really can't afford to spend almost 2 grand repairing this. I noticed a few Mobile Dent Repair services that will come out to your place and repair the dent and repaint for 400-500 bucks. Has anyone used this type of service? How close can they actually get it---coming out to your house and all. Again...I really can't spend 1800-2000 bucks to have a repair center do this work.... the car is only worth $3500 bucks. I guess what I am asking...is WHAT CAN I ACTUALLY EXPECT from such services????

Any opinions/experiences would be appreciated.

 

Just hope for the best and go through with it. Watch them as they work, so you can tell them what areas to touch up.

 

hrmm, I've never heard of or seen these mobile dent repair things, might be interesting to check them out. I would suspect they wouldn't be as good as the professionals but then again I've never seen or heard of em before.

Where in So Cal are you at and where have you seen these things?

 

My wife's black '05 Volvo got a door slammed into it in the Kmart parking lot. It left a BAD dent. The "Dent Doctor" came to her office and fixed it while she worked. It was $90 and you'd never know a dent was ever there.

 

I took a chance...had it done today... I am happy with it.

essentially...it's a 1800-2000 repair (2 separate collision center quotes) that was completed for $350 bucks which includes paint... The guy doesn't do the color sanding/polishing/waxing... that you have to do.

The dude works out of Riverside, CA..but will travel to OC, LA area, or inland empire...

****Remember...this ISN't a 2000 $ repair...it was a 350 $ repair on a car that I couldn't really aford to lay down that kind of money... I am happy with the job and will have it completed (wet sanding/polishing/wax) either this weekend or the next. Either way...he's at least 60-70% more affordable on the body work stuff..then a shop with it's OVERHEAD and OVERCHARGES!
