91 Firebird Formula Bumper Cover
91 Firebird Formula Bumper Cover
Hello,
Can anyone please help me?
My current front bumper cover is warped on one side and I was told since it's plastic it can't be repaired, and needs to be replaced. The problem is... it's discontinued by GM
Is there any place online that may have GM parts hidden away? I realize it's expensive but I would like to buy it new or close to it. I don't want to get an old one that is damaged or is going to warp again in a year. And I'm leery of dealing with private sellers... I don't know anyone selling one anyway...
Another thing.. I currently don't have the front license plate bracket on mine. I don't like how the bracket looks. If I have to resort to getting one with a bracket, is it easy for the body shop to remove and touch up so it looks like it was never there?
I may be going about this the wrong way, I just need some advice on what to do. I bought this car new and it's been my baby all these years
Thank you very much for any help!

Is there a chance that you could post a pic of the damage? I am curious as to why the damage is not fixable? Body guys can fix almost anything!
The noses do appear on eBay from time to time, used mostly, but once in a great while you might find a NOS one. I believe there is an aftermarket company that makes them as well, but I can't be sure of that.
It's great that you are the original owner and have kept the car all these years.

Hi and thanks for the response
Sorry I've been slow! I don't have a (working) camera but I can probably get my hands on one
basically the nose "dips" on one side... one shop said they could try heating it up and getting it back into shape but they said it's not guaranteed that it'll come out right. They said the best bet is to get a replacement, but none of the GM parts places I've checked have them new... so, I guess I will have to keep my eye open for a used one...
Yes, I babied it as best I could even when I was young and foolish
I think it's been in the rain 3 times ever (and that was by accident and I waxed it as soon as I got it in the garage lol). I've been unhealthily obsessive
Which is why this nose thing bugs me to all heck! Anyway, I'll see about snagging a camera.. thanks!

Try hawksthirdgenparts.com or fbodymotorsports.com
I got a 91' Bumper cover from Fbody motorsports, didn't take long to get it, it was used, and it wasn't in bad shape at all. I'd try hawks though, fbodymotorsports shrink wrapped mine and sent it that way...no box or protection from other things being set or thrown on top of it, just good it wasn't damaged.

Thanks! I will check Hawk's again but I could have sworn a used one was $450 which seemed kind of high to me... then again if it arrives damaged from fbody it's no good either.
And thanks cammed91... if I decide to go with new (which I may, if going used in the long run isn't going to save me enough money to offset the risk of buying used) I will check them out. I hope the fit is as good as a GM one. I was willing to pay 635 from one place for a GM one but they were out
