need help t-top weatherstripping install
I recently installed new t top weatherstripping on my car its gm parts weatherstripping so it should be the good stuff but my car now leaks more than it did before. it leaks around the 4 corners and the window doesnt seal very well around the corner on the drivers side rear. i can see inside if i am in the right angle. so my question is what can i do? what have you done to help fix these problems i know most leak no matter what but it shouldnt be this bad i need any advice or help i can get.

Did you spend about 20482084 years taking all the old gunk/weatherstripping off and making SURE it was ALL off? That would be the only reason it would leak, really. My suggestion is to start over, see what weatherstripping you can save (if any), and make sure you get all the old gunk off.

Thank you for replying i took al the old weatherstripping off and i cleaned it the best i could but i dont think that is the problem. I should have explained it better. It leaks where the t-top and the roof of the car meet that gap where the weatherstripping is the only thing keeping it from leaking and thats the problem mine doesnt. It worse than the 21 year old stuff that was on it. So my question is has any one else had this problem or even installed new weatherstripping and what they did to solve this problem if its nessacary i can get pictures but it would take a couple of days for me to get to it(pretty busy with school and all) but i hope that helps with my question. thanks

When I redid my 84 TA, I was also doing the paint over, so i really removed every last trace of old sealer. When I put the new weather stripping on there I used plenty of wetherstrip adheasive( very smelly, very sticky). I never had any leaking from them after that. If the rubber isn't touching the glass, the rubber may be out of place.........Good luck

I bought my t-top rubber from a company called Steelerubber.com . It was about half what GM wanted and it was an exact fit. It had all the little bends and tabs and everything. I think i used 3M weatherstrip adheasive to secure it.
