Who's running 245/50/16 Kumho ASTs?

I'm considering buying these tires, but there is no treadlife warranty so that worries me.

Kumho ECSTA AST

I'm also considering the ASXs, are these worth the upgrade? They have GREAT reviews at tirerack and a 30,000 miles treadlife warranty. I'm not sure how long I'll have these rims. Most likely a couple years, maybe a couple months. I'm leaning more towards these to be honest. Should I just go for it?

I just ordered the ASTs, putting them on the car tomorrow. But I'd say if you can afford the ASXs, then go for it. I just wish I had a biggerb budget!

My rear tires are Kumho ECSTA AST's

My front ones are BFG's

I hate having tires that don't match but they were put on by the previous owner and they all have very good tread, so I can't see going and dropping money on new tires just so they all match.

I love the tread pattern on the AST's. They look SHARP from behind. They seem to be a pretty hard compound, though.

AST's are good.

I like them in the wet and dry and amazingly for traction..

I have to admit i'm pleased for the price.

I've posted about them several times.

My only complaint is they seem to flat spot rather quickly even after sitting for only a few days. It always clear sup within a few miles.

Prolly get more answers if this was in the correct forum also

I hate having tires that don't match
This thread has now inspired me to bite the bullet and buy new tires. I DO hate having tires that don't match, so I ordered 2 new Kumho's to replace my BFG's and they are going on this afternoon!

The Kumho's that are on my car only have about 8,000 miles on them, so I'm going to put them up front for a while and run my new ones on the rear. Then, when the original two finally need replacing, I'm going to just replace them all around.

Can't wait for my sidewalls to match!!!!

I just got a set of 275/40/17 ASX's on my 4th gen WS6, they were really cheap and have a great treadlife warranty, and also I got a $40 mail-in rebate (which they may or may not still be offering). I bought the tires mainly based on the treadwear rating (420), I've been going through a set of tires about every 13,000 miles which is getting very expensive. The ASX's have terrible grip bnoth wet and dry compared to the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's that I replaced the original tires with, but I really can't complain for the price. I got them for $110 each with my employee discount and the rebate. That's half the price of the GSD3's. Bottom line is ASX's are great for anyone with a small budget that's not too worried about traction.
