Time to pick up the car from the paint shop.

I just got the call to come get my car from the shop. My question is what should I look for, and what should I not settle for on pickup. This shop has already proven to be the body shop from hell. I know they are gonna try to pull some crap over on me, do the fact they already tried to adjust the price over the phone at the last second today. Not to mention they have had the car for five months with little to no updates or feed back. I just want it to be over with. They are not professional and I want to be ready! Thank you!

just replied in your original post, but yea they're probably going to feed you some **** about the price before they hand you your keys. And unless it's in writing they can keep your car there until they get paid (without you really having proof as to what you owe). It comes down to your word against theres and if they performed the service and claim to have no documented pay....it could get messy.

Make sure you do a detailed walk around with the car....chances are you pissed them off and may have gotten a few areas cut in the quality. If they agreed to paint and wetsand, make sure there isnt orange peel or runs in the paint. Check for buffing scratches, and if anything is not right - you tell them now, or forever hold your peace. Once it's off the lot anything you notice was 'done by you on the drive home'

shops like these dont deserve to be in business, and its unfortunate some of us run into them...I hope everything works out.
