Window Problem

I was replacing window motors and noticed a GM boo boo on my car (1992 RS). If you roll the window all the way up, inside the door you can see the front connection of window to guide rail for the regulator. There is a rivet there, going through a white plastic disc about 1 inch in diameter, then through the hole in the glass, then through another white plastic disc on the outside of window. Well, as I was adjusting window tracking, I found that that rivet was never pressed through entirely, so there is a lot of window play since the window moves independant (like 1/4 inch) of the guide rail for the regulator.

My question - can that rivet be drilled out and replaced with a bolt/nut without the window falling completely? Or do I need more than 1 pair of hands for this task?

When I replaced my door side window motor, I drilled out the 3 rivits that hold the motor on, I used a piece of wood (2x3) to hold the glass up. I followed the directions on the following thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...or+replacement

PS: The new motor came with 3 little bolts & nuts..it was difficult to get all 3 nuts on so I used only one nut & bolt for the middle hole and on the other 2 I used sheet metal screws, worked fine.

Thanks Frank - but my question has nothing to do with the window motor replacement - I've done that already. It pertains to the factory connection between window glass and guide rail for the regulator.
