Trans Am fender differences? 84 & 86
Trans Am fender differences? 84 & 86
Guys is there a difference in 84 and 86 fenders? Part's lists show them as 85-92 but 84s look the same at least from a picture. Am I missing something?
Thanks!
Thanks!

the only difference is that on the 85-90 fenders there are holes drilled for the ground FX. if you have a earlier car and buy the 85-90 fenders you just have to fill the holes.
the 82-84 fenders only have two large holes drilled low on the body for the front stone deflectors, there are also two small holes on the inside edge also for mounting the deflectors. I forgot to mention this in the original post.
Also some 1984 cars were equipped with a ground FX package these are mounted low on the body as well.

I have an 83 TA. 82-84 TAs have holes drilled in the fenders but they are different holes than the 85-90s. Just clearing things up. To learn more check this link https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...light=identify
Nightcruzr, thanks a mil. That was a huge help with your side by side pics. I was looking at a possible parts car...I need some things, but looks like it's just too different to be worth the trouble. Im learnin'.
