From what I was told, it's very easy as once you take that part of the body apart, the lines where they were factory cut are pretty much there for you to see. I still wouldn't suggest a saws all though. If you were to get someone else to do it, I'd say about $1400.00.

Axle/Gears: you name it
just trade someone your hard top car
I wish mine was not a t-top
for must kinds of racing a hard top is better since its a stronger built car

If you bothered to scroll down about 2 page lengths, this was discussed just a few days ago. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ng-t-tops.html

Alot of opinions in there, but still some good info. Basically, if you pull the headliner, you will see the factory lines. You need to do alot of welding, things need to be re-alligned, etc etc etc. VERY expensive, to do, and in the end not worth it, cuz there still plenty of these cars around. its your car however, so good luck in your decision. READ THE OTHER THREAD, its all there.

thanx online170, and once again teh only reason i ask is becuase i got a bit of a delema on my hands, curently i own a 89 iroc-z and it's got the t-tops and i love it. I plan on fixing up my interior and modding my motor out a bit but then my neighbour is selling his 91 Z-28 and the cars in show room condition and his interior is perfect with a nice sound system, 18 inch rims and rubber. It's also really fast, like 12.5 seconds fast and this sparked my interest big time becuase it would save me alot of money buying his becuase he's asking for like 12. Only problem is theres no t-tops. what you think?

Yea that is a dilema. But in my opinion, if it IS that clean, its all the more reason to not mess with it.
