88 IROC Front End Damage - Need Advice

I recently purchased a 1988 Camaro IROC. It's the L98 option car with the 145MPH speedo and the 5500 red line RPM. I really want this to be a ground up resto but after careful inspection, I found the front frame (especially the part that connects to the reinforcement bumper) is ripped. The front end section is also bent because I picked up a replacement bumper and it does not match up. I'm thinking of going to the junk yard and cutting a clip off of an undamaged car and welding it on. Any suggestions ? Is there a place that sells "front clips" for a 1988 Iroc or is this a total loss?

i don't know of any place that sells the clips ready to weld on, but you could find one in a JY like you're thinking of and weld it on...no reason it wouldn't work. just be CAREFUL and measure, measure, MEASURE!
