t bar question
I am looking for a t bar for my 82 TA. Some of the ones I see on ebay and hawks list the tbar as 85-92, while others on ebay list the part from 82-92. Are there different tbars for 82-84 models? Or is there just one part?

yes, there are two different bars, the 82-84 bars have a little more clearance in the center section to allow the t-top edge frames (these are seen on the front and rear edge of the t-top facing the windsheild and hatch) to nestle under the center bar.
in 1985, the t-tops were redesigned and no longer had the edge frames, and were thinner as a result, so they redesigned the t-top bar to allow a tighter fit with the new glass tops.
the bar will install on your car without problems, but I don't know if the tops will fit right, someone with a early car who's replaced there t bar will have to chime in and say if they do.

hmm. interesting topic. I've seen the weatherseals listed as 85-92 also. I have an 84 and would like to go with t-tops that don't have the edge trim on them. What do I have to do to make those t-tops seal well on my car? I've been running with later t-tops anyway, but i did have some leaks. I am redoing everything on the car, so I'll be purchasing new seals either way.

does anyone know where to purchase one for 82-84? Or am I going to have to change to newer style t-tops to get the t-bar to fit proper with the 85-92 part?

Re: t bar question
I need a 82-84 ttops bar. Will the 85-92 design work?
