formula ground effect swap
i currently have the newer 91-92 style ground effects.i dont really like them and would like to go with no ground effects like in the attached pic.i think thats a 1990 formula.i think that car is awsome.is there modifications involved.will there be holes in the car where my ground effects were.if so can they be filled by welding.will the new front and rear bumper covers fit right onto the existing bumbersand brackets.also will turn signals and headlights bolt right onto my car or do i just need a new bezel for the headlights.
p.s.if anyone wants to trade ground effects ill trade almost complete set minus the two front fender pieces for a front and rear bumper cover like in the pic.

Going down the list
Thats the 85-90 base body, firebird, SE, Formula
Yes there will be lots of holes
Rear quarters, infront and behind the doors, along the base of the door
Something you didnt mention is the reinforcement bar under the rocker pieces
Its welded on the car
Filled by welding... You mean just build up the new metal and smooth it back down? You can, but there are easier ways. Most people just tackweld a roughed up square to the backside of the hole and build it over with filler/bondo
Bumper covers will fit the holes fine. The honeycomb is a different shape. There is a steel strip with studs that clamps your nose to your fender and front ground effect. You will have to cut off the bottom stud to fit inside the nose
Something you left out, the front air dam IS the front ground effects on the 91-92 style. You need to get the older style to fill the void for proper cooling. They attach the same in the middle near the radiator, but I forget what bracketry you need for the outsides
Rear turn signals are the same. The front ones in your nose will have to be moved up to the new location just under the hood and the older style units must be used. The wiring and plug are the same
Headlights are a sticky subject. The 91-92 trim is different when you put the older style nose on. There will be a noticable gap when they are closed and open. Althought you can swap just the bezel, it ill again have a large gap because the 91-92 headlight units are smaller than the older 82-90 units. Most people determined to do this swap the older style headlight in anyways, but then youll realise the bulb plug is different. The wiring is the same just a different plug. Simple splice
This is a big job, worth it or not is up to you
The parts youll need are plentiful and cheap, the labor is whats gonna get you
I personally wouldnt do it. I like the Banshee styling too much
