pics of firebird/TA with 2 or 3" cowl?
I cant seem to find many pictures of these. I see alot of the ram air style witch I think doesnt match the look of the car at all (except the 91 and 92 with round bumpers) Just wondering if anyone has pics with the cowl hood on trans.
thanks

I've seen lots of pics, but haven't saved any of them. I agree...The cowl induction hood doesn't fit the lines of Firebirds. My wife had a pin-on cowl hood on her 90 Camaro. Wasn't happy with the quality of the hood itself though.

i think a cowl hood go better with the lines of the car than the ram air on a thirdgen. i honestly have no ieda why people like the ramair hood on 3rd gen cars, its so rounded, it goes with nothing on the car, it looks killer on the 4th gen cars, but then again it was built for them.
anyhoo, not a pic of a 2 or 3", its 3.5 or 4

I actually saw more pics your car somewere. i dont remember were and I choped the pic with your car and droped it. Looks so sick man, awsome. I just dont know if I want that big a hood. Looks killer though. And ill say it once more to clear this up, I dont think the ram air hoods look good on the 3rd gens either. Cowls fit the lines of a fire am very well.

ive been fighting this was in my head for a year or so now. i have new IROC springs from SPOHN on the car now and everyone wants me to lower the car. my issue is how the F do you jack up the front of the car to work on it? im always tooling on the car and as it stands now, i have to drive up unto little ramps i made out of 2 pieces of 2x12 nailed together and cut on a 30, just so i can get my jack under the front of the car without smashing into the air dam. if i lower the car 2-2.5 inches how in the world will i be able to work on it? any idea's comments?

For a cowl to look good on a 'Bird, you need to have the square straight spoiler, not the wrap around. I've got a 3" Harwood on mine.

Using a 2" x 12" x 10', I cut it into 4 pieces, with 45 degree cuts, and screwed them all together, making a stepped 6" drive-up "lift". Plenty of room to get my floor jack under the car, and have enough room for the handle to move, because we all know, the nose is so long, once the jack is in place from the front, the handle can't really move much. The ramps aren't exactly light, but they'll NEVER collapse, and the ground fx doesn't hit the ramps ever!

Nice hoods guys. Im going to put a Harwood 3" cowl on my 85 T/A this summer. Any ideas on prep/paint/wetsand/buff costs(I suck/hate body work, lol)?

Here's an old pic of my car, but it shows the cowl hood. It's a Harwood bolt-on (not pin-on).
