Question about 91 92 rear bumper facia conversion

Changing the rear bumper facia to the 91 92 rear bumper facia on my 86 iroc. Anyone know if i have to change the impact bar to 91 92 as well or can i just mount the bumper facia on the 86 impact bar?

please reply if you know

I'll be doing this same conversion except using complete 91-92 gfx. No problems? Anyone have any pics of the progress?

i think i remeber seeing at a junkyard that the clips or mounting holes are different. maybe that was the 82-84 front gfx. i know a lot of people have changed over to the 91-92 style so it cant be that hard.

mustve not read carefully. Im doing the exact same things you are doing...complete 91-92 ground effect conversion; rear facia, side skirts and front chin spoiler. I am also putting on the 91-92 blister hood, as well as 2 mint, fully loaded 91-92 camaro doors, as mine are screwed and hinges are bent. I will then paint the whole thing as im a painter. I will post pics along the way of my progress. And when its done.

Ill also try to find a link on the install that i remember seeing along time ago on thirdgen

i bought the aero side skirts and rear bumper, as far as the front bumper would the later front bumper bolt right up? i just want it so the front lip matches witht the sides.

yes it will bolt up but take a decent amount of playing around to get it to fit correctly..

I did the rear bumper and rear 1/4 gfx on my 86 Iroc with the 91-92 Style. The bumper skin went on without a problem but I did have to drill new holes for the rear 1/4 GFX.I have the rest of the pieces for a complete 91-92 swap but havent gotten around to putting them on yet

This is next on my list of stuff to do.

Still trying to find someone local that will have a 91/92 bumpers and GFX. They are getting hard to find. Seems whenever I do find some on Ebay they are always on the east coast. So shipping would kill me.

Was I the only one on the West Coast that bought a Camaro or something? so irritating .

i got lucky i found my rear bumper and side skirts at the junkyard and theyre in great condition the rear bumper has no warps at all, does anyone know if theres a front lip for the 82-84 bumper that has a lower overhang than the stock one? im looking for a lip that'll match up with the sides.

I also found mine at the junkyard.Got the bumper skin and rear 1/4`s from a 92 RS which just happened to be the same color as my car. Currently have 3 sets of 91-92 door and rocker side skirts.Just sold 2 91-92 front chin spoilers leaving me with the 1 for my conversion.Funny when I was at the jy yesterday they were just bringing out a 92 25th anniversary RS with all gfx intact.I seem to see quite a few of these 91-92 camaros although I dont usually take the gfx anymore

Chin spoiler had a crack on the one corner so i wont take it.Plus they are a pain to take off anyways.I dont usually bother with these anymore unless they are in great shape
