Looking into buying this 89 bird...how much work would it take to get this car back into shape?

Seller says it drives fine.

It would have to be really really cheap....... and I would need parts or have to already have parts to fix it or just need something to build over a long winter.

 

so it would be a not so easy project then...it's $400

but I need the car to drive...I'm leaning towards passing, just thought I'd get some advice

 

Whats the engine and trans like?
If you pick up a strait body with no running gear and swap it in it would probly cost around $1,000 to $1,500 total plus you would have a parts car!

 

the 2.8 w/ Man Trans drives fine supposedly

I'm looking for a beater bc i'm selling my 96 3.8 maro, and ran across a fbody for cheap...not much cash available to spend on the car...

how much would parts run me for this car?

 

hmm V6 duno, i think ill let someone else handle it form here (I only realy know about the V8's) i duno what a 2.8 V6 would be worth. atleast it is a manual

Fender, hood, both light assemblies, probably
repair to the core support, bumper skin & probably
the honeycomb frame. Separately, these parts
will probably cost more than you could sell the
finished vehicle for. Looks like a good donor
vehicle for other parts.

 

Ya kno i dont think its worth it. You can get a good looking and running bird for $2000. That car would need a lot of body work and you dont know the extent of the damage

 

definate parts car.. these cars are too cheap. what you would spend on a 2k car you would save in labor and time it isn't worth it as you'll never recoupe if your looking to build and sell off..

part it or crush it..
