rear hatch window tint removal

rear hatch window tint removal

i have a purple sticker type tint in my rear hatch and ive been trying to get it off and ive been having problems. what is the best way to make this tint and the sticky glue stuff, off of ur hatch?

first you gotta park your car in the sun on a warm/hot day. then spray ammonia onto the purple plastic. then cover the purple plastic with garbage bags while it's soaked with ammonia. then on the outside of the window spray water and stick on garbage bags there to attract more heat. after about 10-15 minutes use a razor blade and start peeling. but be super duper careful because if you cut into the defroster your screwed. it should come out in semi-big sheets. that's how it was when i took that crap off my mustang.

I paid $35.00 to the guy that installed my stereo. He has a portable steam mister. It took him about 1 1/2 hours to remove it. He got faster as the time went by because I think he just got better at it. When it was finally off there were lines where the bubbles were, that I removed with very fine steel wool a couple of days latter.
But what a difference it makes in the visibility. I couldn’t see anything more than shadows before.
