repairing radiator support

hey everyone, im new to this forum and i got a few questions before i purchase my seconed camaro to replace, my old one thats life was takin away from slowly by rot, then abrubtly ended by a stupid mistake i made.
a kid i knew when i was in high school had this real clean 86 iroc z with a 350 swapped in, well he sorta ran it into a pole somewheres along they way, wrecked the hood and core support nose cone bumper etc. the subframe is still straight. it actually still runs and drives fairly well. is it possible to replace the core support, and all that?,im new to f bodys still. if anybody can help please throw me a line cause im almost a little desperate right now to throw it together, and drive it cause my ford f250 is about to just up and die, i should stuck with chevy!!!!!

Anythings possible with the right amount of money
Just go to a junkyard and get all the pieces you need, just hope the frame isn't

Re: repairing radiator support

im gonna go take a look at it tonight again, the core suppoort is ddent in quite aways and the frame rails with the bumper mounts sticking in front of the core support are bent in ward a llittle, it may be fixable from what i can tell, with look at my 85 i got in the driive way, i was half thinking about cuttin my rotted out 85s front clip out and welding the cor support and front frame rail stubs into the 86 , but dont know if thats a good idea or not

Re: repairing radiator support

Hawks will sell u a new core support for around $200. My car was very similar i had mine fixed at a body shop. They just pulled it out and straightened it for 300 bucks.

Re: repairing radiator support

im almost thinkin bout gin the professional route, my brother is in a technical highs school and theyve got the means to reasearch almost anything for body frame things like this, he brought home a tech sheet on all the frame measurements the other day, so we are gonna see if we might be able to do it ourself but the body shop might be our best route. 300 bucks you say? i gotta get a quote from somwheres i think
