So....i went to go pick up my tux for prom today, happy day right? Got the tux, paid way too much money, but its prom, what the hell. Coming back home down the highway im coming up to a toll, traffic in front of me slows down, i do too so were all going like 15-20 mph crawling up to the toll and all of a sudden i hear a loud screech behind me. So i look in my rear view just in time to see a girl lock up her brakes and smash right into my bumper. Well...its not nearly as bad as i thought it was while i was getting out....but its my first car, i love this thing....and this just had to happen to me? Anyway...here are some pics:

I thought it was funny that insurance and most of the population in general see a young guy and a sports car and assume im a dumbass or a bad irresponsible driver. This is the first thing thats happened to me in my year of having a license. I realize that isnt very long....but i never let anything bad happen to this car. And now this...someone else goes and ruins it...im pissed, sorry for the rant.

Your quarter wasnt bent down? usualy in rear end colission the rear quarters get bent. i know a kid who got into a fender bender with a red firebird. got the bumper painted, brought the car by when it was done to show me and i asked if he has used it as a general lee an jumped anythign lately, the rear quarters where bent a good 2 inches down.

 

Yeah...nothing serious for my car....but heres the kicker, we got the car without a front spoiler, and we took it to serveral places to get it painted...but nobody could match the paint....if you get it at the right angle its way too blue. So, my bumper is either gonna stay shitty or were gonna go through a lot of **** to find a place to match it nice.

 

really ? is it faded ? my rs was the same color. I had the front end painted, they did blend it but it looked perfect.

 

man thats sucks just take insurance money get cheap used bumber paint it, and use the rest of money for mods

 

Damn, wish that happened when some ******* backed over my front end, then ran. Was at a redlight and he just started backing up. I beeped, and he just kept going. Here's pics of the carnage:

Theres still a bunch of scratches, and still a bunch of small paint chips, but it's "fixed".

Hey, the girls insurance will take care of it. Take it to the dealership and they should be able to add whatever is needed and match it up. 2 weeks you will never know it happened. Now dont worry about it and go have one
h#ll of a time at the prom. You and you GF will remember this for the rest of your life, long after you forget about the car.

 

Thanks guys, i know its nothing too bad, its just when anything happens, even if its the slightest scratch its a huge annoyance. anyway, looks like some other people have been having some trouble too, hope everyone else can get their cars looking back to normal.

 

that sucks. i made a stupid mistake in my 85 last year, well sorta. my girls dad was in icu and all i had to drive was it, and no registration no insurance, we took off with it, i was goin through a stretch of town where kids like to race, and there was four kids in a riced out integra toyin with me and i wanted no part of it, they sped up real fast and locked em up in front of me, i swerved left in to the opposite travel lane, tapped the rear corner of there bumper and drove that thing right home, and put under a tarp, not sure what i was thinkin, but there was next to no damage to my car, but supposedly the integra was undrivable, according to one officer, but he was lien i found out later, now their insurence company wants 2000 some od dollars to pay for the busted up rear body kit, im alot wiser in the way i do things now

 

I have to ask the same question Brisk asked...

What is going on now? I had an F350 tackle my driver side fender Tuesday, estimated at $2533 in damage! At least his insurance is covering it!

That's one thing that makes me feel great about driving my car. They aren't push overs at all. All of the pictures of wrecked third-gens shows them all holding up excellently. Makes me happy.

 

I remember when I first got my car, I guy ran into me at a gas station, I got out, looked at my bumper, wiped the mud off and laughed told him to take it easy. They don't make cars this strong anymore...
